Perimeter

Perimeter is the distance around a 2D shape.

 Perimeter Formula: add up ALL of the sides


The perimeter of this rectangle is: 5 + 5 + 3 + 3 = 16cm

Step 1) Take a “walk” around the figure

 Step 2) Find the missing lengths

 Step 3) Add all of the sides together

 Answer: There are two lengths that are missing. The shorter length is 2 because 5-3=2. The longer length is 4 because 6-2=4.

 Add up all of the sides together...6+5+2+2+4+3=22. The Perimeter of this figure is 22.
